Background: Our two, local non-profit 501(c)3 chapters, the Association of the US Army and the American Legion, have reached out to Veterans and provided assistance to them and their families for decades. This legacy of support is continued with this event. These community-based organizations are committed to finding ways to ease the burden on those who serve or have served in America’s military and honoring that service. Proceeds will support programs at the “one stop” Military & Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) located at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. This center was converted from a gas station in 2008 to address the needs of Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and now serves over a thousand members of all branches of the military community each month.
