We invite everyone to come see a classic drama put on by Huntington Beach High School's Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) Theatre department! With a cast of over 50 students, an all-student crew, including director/production assistants, technical theater and costume design, "Inherit the Wind" is bound to blow you away. "Inherit the Wind" is based on the real-life Scopes “monkey trial” of 1925, two great lawyers argue the case for and against a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching evolution. This story debates evolution vs. creationism on the surface, however, APA Director Jamie Roberts sees beyond that. This Tony Award-winning classic features the debate of religion versus science that still continues today. Jamie Roberts will direct this APA production, and she is taking a more modern approach than expected because “in this day and age of media swarming us with information, it is so important that we all learn to dissect the information we are reading and read multiple stories, articles, studies, etc. to explore various viewpoints so we can support our own opinions.”
