To All Potential Volunteers
2018 VISSLA ISA Junior Surfing Championship, October 27-November 4, 2018
Huntington Beach, CA

Greetings,

We invite you to be part of a new chapter in the surfing history of Huntington Beach. Surf City USA is the Host City for the 2018 VISSLA International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Surfing Championship, October 27 - November 4, 2018, and we need volunteers!
Over 350 surfers, ages 18 and younger, from over 40 countries will take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity. There are several ways for local parents, our youth and anyone who loves surfing or volunteering to play a fun role in this historically awesome event.
From helping stuff bags to being part of the opening ceremonies and parade to lending a hand at the competition site during the nine days of the Championship, there are may ways you can help. Sign up and become a volunteer at https://www.usasurfing.org/volunteer.html and find a variety of opportunities listed, as well as task descriptions that spell out what is expected. Simply sign up and we will be touch. Plus, volunteers will receive a t-shirt, hat and other surprises!
There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation meeting on Monday, October 22 from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Huntington Beach City Council building, 2000 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. It’s the building where HB’s City Council holds their meetings. If you cannot make it, but still want to volunteer, please have a representative attend.
Should you have questions, please contact Debbie Roa, volunteer coordinator for the 2018 VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship. Her email is hbroa1961@outlook.com and phone number is 714-913-0441.
Thank you for your interest in being part of HB’s surfing history. Because of your contribution, this event will leave an incredible mark on our community.

Sincerely,

2018 VISSLA ISA Junior Surfing Championship Host Committee
