The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association in collaboration with the Huntington Beach Art Center Presents:
Signature Impressions
November 19 – December 17, 2016

Huntington Beach, CA – The Huntington Beach Art Center is pleased to present Signature Impressions, an exhibition showcasing the Signature Members of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). Curated by Jean Stern, the Executive Director of The Irvine Museum, this exhibition features works created en plein air. The exhibition will be on view from November 19 - December 17, 2016. The opening reception is November 19th from 6-9 pm.
The exhibition includes 85 works created by the Signature Artists of LPAPA. The designation of Signature Artist in any artist’s association is a recognition of high status and an acknowledgement by their peers that they are worthy of special distinction for their remarkable talents and for their capabilities in creating works of art.

Jean Stern, Executive Director of The Irvine Museum states: “Our Signature Members come from a diverse group. They consist of some of the most talented artists from all across the country. Each of these artists have won numerous awards for their work”

These highly accomplished artists are part of an artistic movement that has captivated audiences on the West Coast since the turn of the twentieth century. Characterized by bold color, bravura brushwork, and “captured light,” painting en plein air is embraced by contemporary painters who are inspired by light, nature, climate, and creative fellowship. The Huntington Beach Art Center will open its doors to give viewers a glimpse of a group of artists united across the country through their love of subject and their passion to paint outdoors, en plein air.

The Huntington Beach Art Center is a public/private partnership between the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Art Center Foundation. During its twenty-one years of operation, HBAC has achieved a regional and national reputation for featuring the work of emerging artists from all backgrounds and viewpoints. Admission to the exhibition is by donation. For questions regarding the exhibit, please contact HBAC at 714-374-1650 or visit them online at www.huntingtonbeachartcenterorg.
