Huntington Beach Art Center Presents: Time Lines, a Contemporary Exhibition That Focuses Attention on the Topic of Aging
Exhibit Dates: April 30– June 18, 2016; Opening Reception: April 30, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (April 22, 2016) – The Huntington Beach Art Center presents Time Lines, a contemporary exhibition that focuses attention on the topic of aging. The works included will reflect captivating and compelling images of the impact of aging on homeless populations, celebrities, families and active seniors. Six photographers and one sculptor will share their vision in a variety of works with differing perspectives.  The artists presenting are Bridget Bourgon, whose works have an international range, Mary-Linn Hughes who captured images of Surfer Seniors, Dan Meylor, whose images from skid row inspired the concept for the exhibit, Ed Templeton, sharing photographs of intimate family relations and Rett Yarnell whose compositions reflect the here and now and the hereafter. Sculptor Fredy Dominguez is represented by a large scale piece titled Forever Young. The exhibition is curated by Kurt Weston, MFA, who anchors the show with several large 50”x40” works.

This exhibition has been planned in conjunction with the long awaited opening of the new Senior Center in Central Park. The events planned for the show include opportunities for docent led tours, information for seniors about resources available to them to address the needs of aging seniors, and artists’ talks that will shed light on their inspirations.  All events are free and open to the public.
