Event Description:
The second annual Walk Run READ! will take place at the Huntington Beach Central Park, raising funds to support the Huntington Beach Public Library Literacy Volunteers.
The 2013 event had over 100 participants, and this year promises to be even better.
The course has been revamped to allow for one fabulous 5k course for runners and walkers alike. The course is a combination of paved and dirt trails throughout the park; including around Lake Huntington.
There will also be a ½ mile Kids Fun Run held at 9am that includes a special medal!
Registration is $30 per person before April 13, and $35 per person after and includes event t-shirt and post-race snacks.
The Kids Fun Run is only $5 and includes a medal.
There will be librarian hosted story time in the park for the children, a $1 used book sale, raffles, and a bake sale to celebrate!
Registration fees includes water throughout the course, after race snacks, and fun post-race festivities.
100% of the race and day's event proceeds will benefit the Huntington Beach Adult Literacy program. It will be a great day in the park for all!
